What We Believe

We believe that every child is unique and special in their own way. In order to respect your child’s development, the Montessori method has been chosen because we believe it offers incredible benefits in all aspects. Our goal is to follow your child’s way of learning and adapt the programme to their needs.

Class sizes are limited to 14 students to ensure the best learning experience. The Nursery class has a full-time assistant in addition to the teacher.

Montessori Approach

All of our nursery and preschool classes follow the Montessori pedagogy. The key principles of Montessori are:

• Freedom of choice of activities
• Self-discipline
• Uninterrupted work time
• Respect for each child’s rhythm
• Students learn concepts by working with materials and discovering them, rather than receiving instructions from the teacher
• Specialised materials developed by Maria Montessori
• Freedom of movement within the classroom

Activities

The preschool classes at Trillium International School offer a perfect environment for children to explore a variety of activities from the 4 areas of the Montessori classroom:

Practical Life, Sensorial, Maths and Language, Culture.

Throughout the day, children will explore a wide range of activities from the different areas of the classroom.

Daily Routine

9:00 – 11:00: Individual work with educational materials.
11:00 – 11:15: Playtime (fruit snack)
11:15 – 11:45: Circle time / story reading
11:45 – 12:30: Lunch
12:30 – 13:30: Playtime
13:30 – 15:00: Individual work / nap
15:00 – 16:00: Arts and crafts / painting
