About us
Introduction
Trillium International School is a recent establishment, founded as a private institution to meet the needs of the international community and those of parents seeking a different teaching approach.
The school offers a rich and diverse environment. The children are aged from 18 months to 10 years. They achieve a high level of success by respecting their individual learning pace.
We have the ability to blend French and English teaching methods, allowing our students to continue their studies anywhere in the world, regardless of the country they move to.

Preschool Classes (from 18 months to 5 years)
The classes are based on the Montessori method, and children are accepted from the age of 2. We can accept children from 18 months after an assessment with the teacher for the nursery class. Lessons are taught in English, with a French lesson in the morning for our children aged 3 to 5.

Primary School Classes (from 6 to 10 years)
Our primary school classes offer an ideal setting for a high level of academic success, thanks to small class sizes (maximum of 12 students) and personalised teaching. The educational programme is based on the British national curriculum, adapted to the local community. French is taught as an essential component of our academic programme, from preschool to year six. There are two to four half-days of French lessons, depending on the level, to ensure solid foundations in French and mathematics.

Installations
Trillium International School is located in the Yvelines, about half an hour west of Paris.

Teachers
Our teaching team members come from all over the world and have varied backgrounds in education. They bring a wealth of diverse learning experiences to TIS.
Our preschool teachers are accredited in Montessori teaching.
Students in our primary classes have two main teachers: one English teacher and one French teacher. All our English teachers are native speakers with extensive experience in international school environments. Both French and English teachers are trained in the Montessori method.

Teachers
Provide children with a bilingual and bicultural approach to equip them with the skills needed to succeed in a global society.
Be an eco-school, raising awareness of respect for the environment and sustainable development by encouraging contact with nature.
Instil the values of respect and mutual understanding, honesty, cooperation, empathy, and open-mindedness..
Promote all types of learning, encouraging and supporting their individuality in an innovative and stimulating environment.
Encourage communication with parents, a key element for the success of children.
Special Needs
Today, an increasing number of children struggle to keep up with the traditional educational system. The learning methods have not evolved in years and no longer meet the needs of children facing difficulties.
Currently, about 25% of the population has a learning disorder. These disorders can be visible or invisible, making their diagnosis difficult.
Whether your child suffers from dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, or giftedness, methods exist to help the child progress in their learning. Support for the child should not be limited to external interventions outside the school. The entire teaching team will work closely with specialists who support the child to develop a personalised educational plan.
Children spend about 8 hours a day at school, 5 days a week. School is where children spend the most time during their first 15 years. It is absolutely necessary for children to feel good, valued, encouraged, and supported in their difficulties.

Types of Learners
Different types of learners
A single method is not suitable for all.tous.
Scientists and psychologists have developed several models to understand the different ways in which people learn best. One of the most popular theories is the VARK model. It identifies four types of learners:
Healthy eating
Healthy meals
We have chosen to work with a local caterer, O’DELICES DE CRESPIERES, who provides us with balanced and organic meals and snacks. All products come from France.
